FOR SALE SOCAL: PERFECT CONDITION, Fully Polished NOT CHROMED VMR V701 Wheels
Hey guys,
I have some VMR V701 on my 1-series that have only been on for a month after being professionally fully polished by FLOSS (Hasback James for you Honda heads
), giving it that mirror finish which is shinier than chrome. Some will argue that fully polish and chrome is the same, however, they are not the same finish. Chrome has a clear coat while polish does not, which means chrome doesn't shine as much.
ANYWAY..... They only have around 400 miles on them. They are washed every 2 weeks with mild car wash soap and a micro fiber so the finish does not get scratched. I've also waxed them after every wash to give it some more shine and protection. They have NOT seen rain, no off-roading, no drifting, no bends, no holes in the wheels, no crazy stuff. I'm only selling cause I have a few sets of wheels coming in. I don't care if they do sell or not since an extra set of wheels is always better for backup. Your chance to get some unique finish wheels.
VMR V701 3-series offset
18 x 8.5 ET35
18 x 9.5 ET33
5x120. These wheels can be redrilled by FLOSS (Hasback James for you Honda heads
) too.
Price: $800
The photos speak for themselves...

Chrome has a clear coat while polish does not, which means chrome doesn't shine as much. That's false information, chrome does not have a clear coat over it. And high polished raw aluminum will oxidize(haze) if you don't maintain the polish by polishing it with a metal polish once a month or so, since it is un-coated and exposed to the elements. Chrome is easier to maintain since its a "harder" metal, so it doesn't scratch as easily as softer aluminum.
Chrome also has a deeper shine to it, since in the process all the minute scratches that are inherent in polished aluminum are filled/covered during the chroming process. Which makes the chrome's surface smoother with a deeper brilliant shine.
