the engine turns over but wont fire. I checked for spark and there isn't any. What do i check next. I have noticed lately when the car was started cold it run rough for about 30 seconds.

yep i can hear it.

 

i pulled the ignition coil and did the test as stated in the helms. I checked the resistance in ohms on my multimeter between a and b and got .7. I then checked between a and the spring and got 9.15. according to the helms a and b is within the normal range of .63-.77. According to the helms the a and the spring is out of range which should be 12.8-19.2 and it's reading 9.15. So according to this the coil sounds like the culprit. Any input?
