Default Can These Be Used On Ferrous Metal -- On Slow Speed?

Nice looking saw, at a reasonable price, but I'm afraid it wouldn't run strong enough at low enough speed. Anyone have an idea of whether it could work (even with some hacking required)?:

Sure, it should work just fine with the right blade. But what are you looking to cut with it?

IMO, you're better off spending $300 for the Northern Cold cut Saw (which I have, and it's awesome) or Evolution Rage saw for cutting pipe/bar/angle iron/etc. That's 75% of what you're going to be doing automotive anyway. The rest of the plate I honestly have found it much faster just to cut with a 4.5" angle grinder. Takes a little practice, but it's real quick to clean up and you can cut anywhere you want and it doesn't matter how big your sheet is. Just my $0.02.

Thanks for the input!

The Northern dry-cut saw would be a lot faster, right? I guess I was just thinking of a standup band saw for the ease of making various angle cuts in tube and whatnot without the drama that I envision a dry-cut saw might entail. But maybe they're relatively drama free compared to my $50 14" abrasive wheel chopsaw I'm used to?

I'll check up on that Evolution Rage saw -- I'm not familiar with those.

Thanks again!

Yup, I cut through stuff really fast.

As for drama free... well, all I can say is, invest in some clamps lol. But there is no sparks, and very limited clean up afterwards. Just that if you don't have the metal held well the blade will take it and throw it wherever lol.
