Default steve's craptacular hatch extravaganza!!

Hey everyone how's it going im steve and im from Niagara Falls.

little back history had a nice 96 ek hatch with some work done to it and ended up writing it off

so to pay off everything io put into it i parted the old car out and with the money i had left i purchased a 99 civic hatch cx AUTO!!!!!!!

at the time it was the right thing to do since i was moving and it was the sensible thing to do at the time ( to hell with sensiblitly )

so anywho i've had the car and neglected it for the time being just doing regular odds and ends to keep her alive and strong.

so the part list.

engine
bone stock d16y7

wheels
2004 acura 1.7 el rims ( sir knockoffs i call em )

interior
optional leather armrest (oooh la la)

exterior
jdm ctr rear lip (replica)
spoon carbon fibre wing (replica and needs help)
ctr grill (replica)
dents ( oem )

so enough with me heres some pics

oh btw if you didnt notice when i got the car i needed a new front bumper so i shaves the plate nubs off
heres a better look

here's the wing in its rough shape i need to redo it badly i think im gonna paint the top silver and leave the underbelly in carbon

hope you like it so far.

she was filty so i thought i would do some before and after pics of inside and out

under the hood
before

after

girlfriends and neices can put a toll on an interior

before

so after i gave her some of this

then some of this

and a little bit of

okay a lot of

= this

still not please with the result i got out the big guns

then i got this

im fine with that for now in the next couple days i might hit it with some more

cleaned her up a little more outside nothing special

and a shout out to any fellow disc golfers out there

hope you guys like it so far i have a lot in store for this car but it will take time

just a quick update guy's i've started doing all of the body work to sort this car out asap
i started with all of the dings and dents around the body and got them sorted and primed for the time being since it is my daily driver.
things i still need to do:

get a new hood prob aftermarket oem ( i've used them in the past with little to no b/s)
weld a small partch where it is starting to rust in the left rear wheel well

i'll keep you guys posted on the progress as it goes along with lots of pics

btw im doing a complete color change to champ white i've always wanted a white ek since i got into cars

so just got back from doing more work on the outside of the car starting to look better well not really lol...i found some more dents and ripples in the body but i think i got all the big crap out..

as from there i talked to an old friend who has a facility for me to use to get the patch work done and painted.

further talking to my friend and we decided upon using a urethane based single stage white paint (i've used this paint allot in the past working in bodyshops and it turns out great and does not fade)

so next step will be to finish the patch work then fully prime the whole car with high build primer to make sure i didnt miss anything.

ill keep you guys posted on the progress.

btw here are some crappy pics lol

where the patch has to go

damn this rust

there was some hardcore rippling going on there so i make er look nice

some more crap i have to fix just covered for now

little update nothing special just some pics of when i tore down the car some more before i prep for paint be advised this is my daily i have to be able to drive this bastard everyday so i cant just gut it the way i would like.

door panels came off same with kick panels

same with the body side mouldings

the right fender moulding was glued on by what appeared to be some sort of foam caulking but i removed it with ease... so i guess i got to hit up honda for some clips or rig up something better.

as for that i am thinking of ordereing some parts from abs dynamics such as a replica mugen spoiler and a new front lip i will most likley go with mugen agian since i liked the overall look.

UPDATE!

got most of the body work sorted out but still have to some more finish filler on the patch but it turned out good

got her up with the tire off

then proceeded to grind down with 3m purple clean grinding disc

booo rust

removed more rust that this but i just took this pic

made up my custom 20 gauge sheet patch

note both body and patch panel got covered in etch prime before the welding process began

i say it looks nice

didnt get any pics of welding my bad but it did look good

then some fibreglass just incase of any pinholes

sanded then filler applied

needs a bit more work but thats all i got done for the day will tackle the rest of it soon then will start to sand the rest of the body down with 400 so i can reprime and block out the whole body to make sure it looks straight.

keep you guys posted as soon as the hood comes in

good eye yea i cut the peice out first them made the bend with a brake then used a stretcher to get the bend till desired. nothing wrong with using a machine instead of hammering it over a form or dolly

yea i played it smart and didnt want that patch lifting cuz of rust forming behind it..kids always cover up!! lmao..

little update nothing special so when the hood came in i was super excited so i opened her up to check it out and it had more ripples then my factory hood plus there was no protection on the bottom edges of the hood so those were bent up so i am sending her back and keeping the $$ for something else while i continue to fix the rest of the body.

anybody know where i can get some cheep coilovers like progress in ontario?

sick of running 4x4 stance
