Default o2 sensor Primary & Secondary question.

So I just found out that my secondary o2 sensor is no good on my 98 Civic DX hatch (Thanks Ron!). However, I have an extra Primary o2 sensor laying around and they look pretty much the same but of course they have a different part number from Honda.

Does anyone know if I can use the Primary o2 sensor as my Secondary? Is the only difference between the two the length?

Thanks!

Pretty sure they are the same I mean I believe they both have the same 4 wire functions: ground, heater power, signal and power. Try it and confirm or deny.

I believe they are the same sensor, but the wiring harness is male on one sensor, female on the other for some reason... I've never tried it, but you could probably hardwire either sensor to either harness...

Interested to see what you find out, because I'm in the same boat. My primary is shot, but I have an extra secondary laying around. Just haven't had time to get under the car to look.

Looking in my manual, it's not showing different connectors for the B16 or D16Y5 engines. So I'd assume that they're the same thing. Testing procedures are the same for both.

Last time I used a b-series secondary on my d-series and it worked fine.
