I have been scratching my head looking at the wiring diagram in the manual. Has anyone noticed their a/c compressor kick on with the radiator fan?? Even with the climate control off, if the radiator fan comes on it will turn on the compressor. I currently do not have the condenser fan installed and i think the noise suppressor is missing. What does that do anyway? The a/c works fine, i use it mainly on the highway. Any insight would be great, thanks.

 

You ought to have a condensor/ac fan if you have a working ac system.

But if its missing, clearly you have some hacked up wiring. So someone skipped the rely and tied the radiator fan with the compressor to make things work.

Shrug. We can't solve your "mystery". Just take a look at the wiring and see how it is. Its not stock.

 

yeah, i know. just thought someone else might have run into this too. previous owner pulled the a/c system and hacked the wiring. i put the system back together, but the condenser fan was too tight with the b16. i tried a pusher fan but it was too tight and caused the condenser to leak. the a/c works fine without it, the radiator fan also acts as a condenser fan.
i removed the condenser fan relay today and the compressor stopped working, so i think there a couple wires switched around there.
