hey guys, i just replaced a water pum,p on my buddys dads 1990 accord lx with an f22a1 with 180,000 miles.

timing and balance shaft belts went back on right as far as my knowledge and i am now getting a surging idle when it warms up.

it idles between 1000-1500 when warmed up.

i understand that the fitv or iacv could be the culprit, but it happened ONLY after we replaced all this.

another thing i noticed, when i unplug the throttle position sensor, it steadies the idle, but at around 1700 rpms

please help as i live 30 minutes away from my buddy and i want to get this issue resolved.

any info would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!

 

Did you bleed the coolant system?? There might be air trap inside there.

 

air in coolant can lead to fluctuating idle
