1st gen CRX/b16 swap...is a/c possible?
I had a B series in my '87 HB and there was less than 4" between the radiator and header. Its too tight of a fit. Im sure someones done it or could figure out a way to make it work but from my experience with this swap theres no way an a/c comp. would fit in there with a B series.
I think the Hasport mounts 2nd generation allow AC for a 1st gen crx. The first version of them didnt
I have place racing mounts which I believe position the engine further forward. I had to get a slimmer a/c fan than stock, but other than that it works great. BTW, I have a 90 CRX DX with B16a and A/C.
The new billet mounts for the 84-87's do not provide enough clearence for your a/c, because theyre is really no available space to put it. Between the radiator and the firewall there is only so much room and because of the size of the B series motor, there is no way you would be able to keep your a/c. There just isnt any available room for a compressor. You can on 88-91 but in the 84-87 the fit is too tight.
hasport mounts will allow for a/c. Its a tight fit, and I would suggest some heat wrap for the a/c lines, but it will work. A/C owns!

are you talking about a second gen, or 1st gen CRX? I know it'll fit on a second gen..but I'm asking about a 1st gen.
