Performance loss if head isnt torqed properly?
I have a gsr block on a type R head, high compression CTR PCT pistons 82mm bore with ls stroker, skunk 2 stage 2 tuner series camshafts, 440cc injectors 70mm throttle body running on e85 making 182whp and 125tq.
before this i thought i had blown the head gasket because oil was leaking pretty bad so i took the head apart for cleaning, new valve seals for the head and got a new head gasket.. as i got the motor back together i torqued the head down to 65ft/lbs
but a guy that i just met recently said that i might be having some power loss somewhere in my motor due to the power being so low .. he said i should torque the head down to 80ft/lbs for better sealing and power.
btw he claimed that he had built a LS vtec motor making at least 200whp with similar parts but on 91 pump gas w/81mm bore
right now the motor is running fine as it is and rev's to 8200 rpm..
anyone think i can bring the rev's up to 9000-94000 rpm safely with 65ft/lbs already or should i re torque the head then take the rev's up for more power?

takes alot o boost to lift a head...and this is N/A...oem bolts are not reusable....if you have arp depends on what u used as a lube....oil vs arp lube will require different torque specs...65lbs is good for oem bolts in 3 steps 20-40-65lbs, arps u can do 20-40-70 depending on lube..
