R owners...how do u correct lift throttle oversteer?
ok,
askin this cuz i had a very similar setup (dc2, itr lsd, itr rear sway, and some other suspension goodies)...
entering a turn...
lift throttle...
rear end comes out...
would you..
correct (opposite lock correction)and floor it (to activate the lsd)..
or are you screwed?
i know it depends on how bad the car is oversteering...
but this is a "general" q..
thanks guys

ok wow. you need to learn to drive. you lift before the turn then jam the brakes. (or you can feather the throttle while on the brakes if you have mAd SkIllZ y0) and accelerate through the turn.

to correct it, stop lifting the throttle and get back on it.
this does not answer his question.

But yeah, stomp on it and steer where you need to go!
Another thing is you need to get into the habit of is keeping light pressure on the throttle through the turn.
BIG PHAT R says it best...
if i may quote him
The key is to limit your entry speed - you were probably going too fast to begin with. Remember "slow in - fast out".
If the car does start to rotate - the thing you must teach yourself to do is NOT TO TOUCH THE BRAKES. This will induce further weight shift to the front wheels and lighten the rear end even more. You actually have to hit the gas in this situation to reduce the spin tendency.
Check to see that you are taking the corners properly - turning in too early/too late can set you up for a spin too.
good ish
I learned a LOT at "The Gap"!
hehehe, Ed got bit by the dragon

Why would you want to correct? Drifting is JDM! Any good Japanese motoring video will tell you this. I mean, correcting lift throttle oversteer is like modding a Honda with USDM parts!
I guess it depends on how fast the backend is coming around. If it just starting to come around, and not too fast, I would say stay off the throttle, and turn very slightly into it and wait.
From the videos I've seen, the damage isn't caused by the initial oversteer, but from the drivers overreaction(turn too much into it) which caused the backend to come back around to the other side where it completely spins.

Just get on the gas again.
In MY cases, trying to correct the turn will make your backend come out again. What I have done is just get on the gas and everything comes out fine.

Don't ever lift completly and violently. One trick I know to the control the throttle to its minimum is to bend your toes in your shoes. That way, you have at least a little throttle.
I don't know where you drive, but limits of a corner and your car should be approached bit by bit by adding more speed little by little. If you know you are too fast into a corner carrying too much speed after the turn in point, brake lightly before the apex. Trail-braking induced oversteer is more controllable than lift-throttle during the apex...but you need to practice.
Gently counter-steer the car to correct the oversteer. If the car oversteers too much and it's beyond control. Don't try to correct it, straight the wheels and both clutch and brake to the bottom <------- I learned it the hard way.

Yep, then you don't accelerate to the point where you lose it, nor do you induce oversteer.
yup, have to be careful with the lift-throttle. you might want to "practice" by training yourself not to do it. Tonight i was coming home through some backroads and went around one of my favorite slightly banked sharp left turns. I purposely lifted the throttle just slightly and the back end started to come out... I was ready and already had it in high-rpms in 3rd gear and gave it a little punch and it immediately straighted back out, just like clock-work. I used to do it in my old 'teg all the time, but have just started getting comfortable in the R enough to do it on purpose. it does scare the crap out of you when you do it on accident, you just have to fight that urge to lift off even more or snap the brakes. that's partly why i induce it on purpose sometimes, to help train myself.
didn't help tonight though that as i was straightening back up the car, there was a cop in the other lane jump on his brakes, probably thinking i was going to hit him. i slowed down, waited, and he turned on his lights. but then he turned them off and i didn't stick around to find out if he would follow.
