24 hours of LeMons - Arsesweatapolooza T-Hill
Anyone from here going next weekend? I'll be there with Rice Rocket Racing and our BRE themed 240z.
Can't wait, I love this crazy race.

Very cool, I'd love to run one. I worked a corner for the gingerman event 2 weeks ago and it was fun to watch. I still don't believe the 500$ car field looking at the vehicles. I am certainly interested in running one now.
I ran the Capitol Offense race in June @ Summit Point in a turtle themed DSM. We were running well until we spun a bearing in the final minutes of day 1.
The next event we're doing is the 25 hour Chump Car race at Nelson Ledges in Ohio in October.

Same story here. I worked the ChumpCar 24 hour race in Spokane 2 weeks ago, and a buddy of mine was driving a Miata. I asked him "Where the hell did you get a $500 Miata?" He said, "Becky got into a wreck and the insurance company totaled it. We bought it back at the insurance declared value of $160." Hell there was a late 90's-early 2000's 4 door BMW in the race.
Well that was an interesting weekend...
Practice day: went fine, except needed to weld on some gusseting to the cage. Not a big deal, car ran fine.
Saturday: 45 minutes into the race, catastrophic engine failure, dropped a valve into Cyl #6. Team drives down to San Jose (3.5 hours each way) to get a spare. Swap it in that night, discover it has been sitting in a garage for 13 years! lol
Sunday: Engine is down 30hp from the old one according to the dyno at the track. We run it anyways. It overheats and vaporlocks whenever we pit. We run it anyways. 2nd engine fails with 35 minutes to go on the race.

We just pulled our motor and trans over the weekend. Hoping to have everything up and running for our next event in October.
This was my 4th event with Lemons.
How many drivers do you guys have?
For our last race we had 4, since it was broken up w/10 hrs on 1 day, and 5 hrs on the 2nd. This next race we're doing is 25 hrs straight, so we're thinking about adding a 5th or 6th person.

Our day was split 9hr and 6hr. Typically we have 4 drivers which works out fine, this time we had 5 which was still ok. Next year they're talking about doing 24 hours at Thunderhill. I would then recommend at least 5 drivers. That should be a lot of fun!
Gotta be careful with the L series. The valve springs are only good for so long once you run it past 7100 RPM... That and you HAVE to check valve clearance EVERY race.
