b16 tranny with broken case

so i broke the case of my b16 cable tranny today on the freeway, so i was wondering if i could buy an ls cable tranny and and use the case from that tranny on my b16 tranny?

you have to make sure you have the right year transmission. if your b16 transmission is a 90-91 (S1 J1 A1) then you have to get another 90-91 transmission. if your transmission is a ys1 (92-93) then you can swap between any 92+ b series transmission. you cant put 90-91 guts in a 92+ or vise versa
Im a manual trans expert, i dont understand how you can break the case by hitting a bump, unless your saying it hit the road and split it open, then that woud make sense. 
Its really not a job for an average backyard wrench to change internals and cases on a trans, though hondas are fairly simple. just pay very close attention. If youve never been inside of a trans before.. good luck. I do alot on the side out of my garage, but cali is a little too far from ohio lol
