Need help please..

I have a 1997 honda civic EX that will NOT start. The engine light came on one day, car ran slugish, engine shook and shut off...I changed the plugs, wires, Ignition coil and the ICU and still have a week spark. I am getting fuel out of the injectors, the timing belt is new and have compression...but i believe the problem is with the spark.

Please help...need to get this bad boy back out on the streets..Tired of driving my wifes honda odyssey..ha

what CEL codes was the car was giving?? that could help you and also help us help you in elliminating possibilities

 

so how exactly does one test for this "week" spark?

 

Click on the CEL sticky at the top.

Click on the spark link in my signature.

Turn the key to ON(II) and listen for whether the fuel pump primes for 2 seconds.

 

how about you get a code reader and see what that check engine code is all about. Easily could be something like a coolant temperature sensor being bad, therefore not letting the car start.

 

I got a code reader...but its not giving me a code, i am not sure if the ECU reset so it isnt giving a code. Also when i put the key in all the lights come on including the engine light but when i hear the main relay click on the engine light turns off.
