Default RSX Type-S Automatic possilble???

My wife debated wether to get a base auto or a type-s awhile ago. She decided to get the base because she didnt like driving in traffic with a manual transmission and thought she would have a free hand to do anything instead of constantly shifting. My question is. what can I do to her car to mod it to be faster for her? Is it possible to make a k20a2 automatic? Thinking about dropping it it if its possible. And dont say. "Its an AUTO!" I know hhahahah.

I don't think thats worth it because the type s never came with a auto so no ecu would work without some major modifications. I could imagine it would be possible to swap a tsx motor and tranny over(k24) with the ecu from the tsx but also i haven't seen this done yet. The best advice would be do intake, header, than hondata ecu reflash that should give her some low end for daily driving! GL

Tell her to get a Type S.

she can just leave it in 1st gear for going from kitchen to laundry room and back.

Does she want it to be faster or do you want it to be faster?

Does she want it to be faster or does she want it to be "easier to drive"?

I personally daily drive manual transmission cars only and have never found them to be a problem, even when stuck in heavy stop and go traffic for two hours because a semi went off the side of the road. Of course it's going to suck going through that... it's a traffic jam.

Traffic jams suck with either tranny. unless you have a dual clutch I guess.

still gotta be on the brakes all day or go back and forth thru N and D with auto.

The enjoyment of a manual when theres no traffic jam more than makes up for (additional) annoyance during one.

yeah...i do hate driving stick in traffic

but it sounds like your wife shouldnt be driving stick if shes not prepared to do it in traffic lol

just leave her base rsx alone...

if you guys want to mod it just treat it like it's a car...any mod will do fine

shocks(coilovers) are basically the same it is the same chassis

intake,exhaust etc

although since its the wifey's automatic base i wouldn't get too crazy with the mods

Exactly what I was saying. I just get tired of hearing that excuse. Like shifting is that difficult anyway.

i think its reasonable... that drivin auto in traffic is so much better...
just leave it in drive and use your right foot for gas/brake

beats pulling it in and out of gear with your hand while using both feet on clutch and gas/brake

but driving stick any other time is a blast and beats driving auto =]

I guess I just don't see it as "work" like some people seem to.

I personally hate driving auto. Makes me feel like I've given up some control of the vehicle, because I have.
