Default h22 euroR pistons f22b2 block

wanting to do a poor mans high comp f22 using the h22 euro r pistons i understand i will have to bore the block to 87mm and was told that is thin for the cylinder walls but will the wrist pens line up with out a problem or will i have to do more block work than just boring it to 87mm?

I'm sure a performance shop can figure something out to make those pistons work on the stock rods or even aftermarket ones too.

Using the stock H22 (31mm compression height) pistons on stock F22 (141.5mm long) rods will bring your piston out of the bore approx 0.508mm. If you are able to find a shop that will bore the small end of the stock F22 rod to allow for the use of the H22's floating wrist pins. Then you must contend with piston to valve and piston to head clearances.

The H22 piston is 87mm and the stock F22 combustion chamber is only 85mm. You will need to ether machine the combustion chambers or run a thicker head gasket. Honestly doing a bit of both wouldn't be a bad idea. Considering that with this piston/rod/head combo. Your static compression would be sitting around 12.5:1

IMO you would probably be better off doing the poor mans oem K20a1 K20a2 (Sir/RSX-S) high compression piston build. They are only 86mm bore and the compression height is only 30mm. That is a compression height 0.5mm shorter than stock F22. Therefore there are fewer worries of piston to valve or piston to head clearance issues. Not to mention that your static compression would be in the 11-11.5:1 range.

can i just use the h22 rods and the euro r pistons? or would i have to work the crank jurnels to fit the rods?

H22 rods will fit the F22 Crank no problem. The issue with using the H22 rod with an H22 piston on a 95mm crank. Is that the piston will be out of the hole even more. H22 rods are 1.5mm longer than the F22. This would make your deck clearance -0.08" (piston out of hole)

I bought a set of H22 rods for my build. However, I bought pistons with a custom compression height (wrist pin location). My pistons CH is 29mm vs the H22s 31mm or the F22s 30.6mm. Moving the wrist pin up in the piston (decreasing CH) brings the deck clearance to 0.00".

so i would have to use the deck height you said (29mm)? or would mine be a different height? what all can you tell me about the k20 pistons in the f22 block?

What rods are you going to be using, H22?

With the K20a3 (RSX) 30mm CH, -2.5cc dish pistons and H22 rods. You could expect to be looking at a deck clearance of around -0.04" and a static compression ratio of approx 11.7:1. Any of the other K20 pistons w/2cc+ dome would have you into the 13:1 CR range.

Depends on what it is that you want? I already posted 3 different combinations. The H22 Rod, K20 (RSX) piston F22 crank & block would work. Use an F23 head gasket.
