Help With ZC swap ECU???
Hey whats up, Im new to the forum, but not to the game, and need a little help! I have just finished building a 91 Si hatch with a ZC and basic bolt-ons and used the Teg ECU with proper dist. harness. I was wondering how everyone else that has this setup, grounded/mounted down the ecu in the stock location. ALSO, I am looking at my next project, an 89 CRX Si with a ZC, WW kit, and all kinds of other stuff, its just not finished and I am getting it for pretty much nothing, BUT my question is this....It has the Exact same set up at the civic I just finished, BUT, the ECU isn't grounded, or even mounted down for that, and it runs fine!! WTF. I couldnt get the civic to run, at all with out the ecu grouned to the chassis(still had the si ecu mounted). And this car runs just perfect with the Teg ecu, just laying on the floor, wired up. I'm sorry this is so long, Ijust need to know what the difference is between the 2, IF there is one, and how I need to mount the ECU in both of them. Any help is much appreciated.BWT, both motors/ECU/harnesses are the same..

Come on...I have a really hard time believing that NO ONE knows what I'm talking about...there has to be over a hundred ZC swapped cars on the forum, and I'm positive that not everyone, had someone else do the work.
you can gut the ecu and put the chip in your stock ecu case In most cases.
FYI, in case anyone actually uses the search featur some day and finds this... I don't think the integra board will fit in a DX case though. I think the case is narrower. I tried to do this on an 88 dx crx and it would not fit. Other years may differ, but I doubt it.
Ok, so I just take the board from the Teg ecu, put it in the Si box, and bolt it down just like it was before? Also, retarded question, the Si ECU IS grounded by the bolts holding it to the floor, right?? So, why does my CRX run fine with the Teg ECU not bolted down, in the Teg case?? With my Si hatch the thing wouldn't run at all without the ecu being bolted in place/grounded(?)....thanks for the help guys, just need to get this all figured out.
Are you sure that you don't have a short in a wire going into the ECU, or that some of the pins weren't making contact inside the ECU socket? I know that mine will run just fine without bolting the ECU down. As far as the Integra ECU into the DX case, this will not work without lots of grinding and bending the mosfets on the edges of the Integra circuit board inwards.

Right, Right, BUT If I'm taking the Integra board and putting it into the Si case, it will fit right. So, on my 91, I can just put the Teg board in the Si case, and on the 89 CRX Si I can take the Teg board and put it in the Si case..they are the same for 89 and 91 right...

I tried to put my 89 integra ecu in my 89 si box and it would not fit. It is like 1.5 cm too long. Mabey just the 89 si box is to small for the integra ecu or something cause i spent like an hour trying to get the integra ecu in my 89 si box and it will not go unless i break it.
