Bead-blasted... now what ?
I have a set of rims I want to repaint/powdercoat.
Whats already done to the rims:
1) Paint completely stripped
2) Surface bead-blasted to the base aluminum.
3) Washed and out gassed in an oven
What is the next step to painting them ?
Sand/scuff, prime, paint ? Are all three steps necessary given the metal is already bead blasted ?
The plan is to spray paint them and hit them with a clear coat of powder.

I would sand them with 320 or 400 dry, alcohol them clean, then use a quality etch primer as your very first layer of product on them. This will promote adhesion, and will seal in the metal before you use a thicker, sandable primer before paint/powder, etc. I really like DuPont's Variprime I believe it's called.
