Default 02-05 Honda Civic Si - Perfromance Parts

Hi everybody! This is my first post and a first time Honda owner! I recently acquired my 2002 Honda Civic Si this past April and I'm looking to install performance parts (Intake, Headers, Exhaust, Chip etc.). I have already installed an intake, AEM Dual Chamber (V2), and have noticed an incredible increase in mileage and horsepower. My overall goal is to have a performance efficient vehicle that will outperform many on the streets. Any thoughts and opinions or suggestions on makes, models, and types would be greatly appreciated. So far I've heard that DC Sports Headers 4-2-1 is the way to go, along with a Skunk2 Racing Exhaust (I’d like to keep it quiet, nothing loud). I have no idea where to start with ECU or "chipping" my Honda.

Thanks everybody!

google is your friend
i dont think you looked enough.

and skunk2 exhaust is not going to be quiet by any means.

if you want to stay quiet.
keep the stock axleback, it flows good anyways.
option 1
racer header---aftermarket midpipe---stock axleback

or if you'd like to stay legal
option 2
stock or aftermarket short header --- aftermarket catconverter --- aftermarket midpipe-- stock axle back

option 3 for the cheap person on a budet
stock header--stock catconvert--aftermarket midpipe---stock axle

the midpipe and catconverter is the bottleneck in our cars

obviously the easiest way is to just get a race header and a whole catback system but there is no such thing as a "quiet" aftermarket catback, in my opinion at least

Im not sure who makes the best cams. The k20a3 head doesnt have vtec like the older b series. It only has vtec on the intake cam. The k20a2 head is much similar to the older b series. With vtec on both intake and exhaust cam. Not to mention the k20a2 head flow better as well. As much money as you would spend getting cams, you could just about do a head swap and benifit more. Either way your going to have to get K pro for it to work correctly.

as stated before there is not really a quiet exhaust system unless you stay mostly stock. Go with a buddyclub race header if you want something worth the money. K-pro is a very big "must buy" because the difference of feel from the vehicle vs. money:power ratio is by far the best I have seen for staying mostly stock. and as far as cams for the k20a3, coming from a friend that has gone all motor k20a3 to boosted k20a2 in his ep3, blueprint makes one of the better setups for the stock k20a3. do a little more research, it will be worth it in the end. I wish someone would have given me that advice when I started on my ep 4 years ago.

also if you guys don't even have the main bolt ons done not even worth putting cams in! You need to put more money in your engine before you just slap some cams on...

K-Pro is not needed unless you plan on getting a tune in order to extract more power out of the engine.

if you are putting cams on you need to get your car tuned to get the maximum performance from your engine with your new cams... you would need KPRO for this!

I agree Kpro is a must. The stock ecu is set to run a stock motor. The more air you add to the cylinders, the more fuel you will need. Kpro makes it easy to tune with any engine mods.
