Buying Exhaust for my 95 civic....Help/Opinions/Advice plz
So like the title says, I need a new exhaust b/c my stock one is rusted out. I really and want to avoid buying a Fart pipe. So I was wondering if anyone knows a high quality exhaust that isnt a fart pipe and is a good deal. I wouldnt care if it made no noise at all, but wouldnt mind it having a little something to it (along the lines of a g35 exhaust that purrs when you get on it).
So anyways yea HELP!

I, like you can't stand some of the louder eghausts around, and go for a more tasteful sound.
It really depends on budget, and personal taste, but I have used a couple of quiet exhausts that you might look into.
RSR Exmagg exhaust: The hands down best exhaust I have ever owned! The can is painted black with a decent sized tip. Sleeper style, and quiet. Great exhaust, only downside is they are getting harder and harder to find, and they are on the expensive side. Plan on spending $500-$600+ on a cat back for your car.
Apexi WSII Exhaust: This is what I currently have on my car. Sounds as close to the exmagg as you will ever get. A little bit like an 07+ SI sound to it. Not whisper quiet, but not obnoxious either. this would be my second choice, if you don't want to spend the money for a Exmagg or even find one.
The price on these babies aren't as bad and ALOT easier to find.
If I remember correctly, I spent about $450 shipped for a new cat back.
Hope this helps.

Hold on a minute. You want an exhaust on your 95 civic to sound in the line of a G35 ?!?!?!

I will retake "grumblemarc" words here: NO TECH INFO

Also, 450 was for the hatch, and I'm not 100% that's how much it was. I also had the same exhaust on my old DC integra, and it was about the high $300. range.
IMO, these are excellent exhaust systems, and worth the money. If you have any problems finding some videos, I'll be happy to help.
It all depends what you have in mind, and budget. ok, you have the ideal sound you wanting to accomplish, great, but what about budget? If your looking for a exhaust system, a DIY I've had and would recomend the Apexi World Sport II (WS2). If your creative and have access to a pipe bender and welder, Vibrant makes a great flat black streetpower muffler, and sounds great! Key factor to remember about sound
1) engine (bigger displacement will give you deeper tone)
2) exhaust pipe ie. aluminized steel vs. stainless steel (SS will help produce deeper tones, compared to raspy "ricer" exhaust from aluminized steel)
Hopfully you can accomplish what yourt looking for. Good luck!

edit: nvm the vibrant muffler is dumb loud
those videos might not be the best representation on what they sound like when driven regularly.
no tech involved*
if you want a g35 noise, get a g35....
anyways if you want something quiet but some noise and not rasberry get custom piping with a obx-r mugen twinloop replica exhaust off ebay for 80 bucks make sure you run a RESONATOR! and it will be the sound your looking for(excluding the g35)
the tip is only 80 bucks.win

Haha, I can tell you that these exhaust are reletivly quite. You don't even hear them at idle, and unless you have your foot on the floor, I would say these sound about the same as the higher end civics (si, etc.)

if your getting it for performance make it yourself.
vrs. vibrant(add resonators, more then half of the sound clips for it are straight piped), resonators done. usually for cheaper or around the same price.
if you just want to be cool sounding with no real means for performance. stock. waste money elsewhere.

as for your second sentence, i've read it 5 times and can't make sense of it, but yea i'm not doing it for sound OR performance really...i'm doing it because my stock exhaust rusted out...
make it myself? as in go to meineke? or is there a preferred muffler place you know of in the northeast?

It's up to you, but if it was me, I would put just a little more more money into a bolt on cat back.(apexi)
Sure the performance gains very minimal by adding said catback, but I'm sure we are on the same page when saying, if I wanted a fast car, I would have bought one.
just get a stock exhaust if you don't want sound or performance out of it. thats what that sentence meant i screwed it up somewhere along the line.
it'll be cheaper and better. spending 5-600 for no reason besides a replacement makes no sense to me.

ok so heres a question....if i got an SI muffler or RSX-S muffler, said muffler shop (meineke) would be able to custom fit it on there correct?
my main goal (and reason for making this thread) is b/c i figure i might as well upgrade slightly as long as a HAVE to replace my exhaust....just trying to do it for around the same amount as a stock replacement would be and steering clear of fart pipes like i said
