Hello, I just bought a 93 civic ex coupe with a d16z6 vtec engine. I am new to cars and am looking for some answers~

When the car is in idle, the rpm jumps from around 1100 to 1500 while the engine revz (like someone is pressing the gas pedal off and on)

also, when the car hits about 100mph, the CEL turns on. BUT, when you turn the car off then turn it back on, the CEL is not lit.

Last but not least, my clutch is going out. I have been looking at some stage 2 clutches from Exedy and ACT but I do not really know what to get. I am looking for a daily driver/moderate racing clutch kit for around $400 or less.

any answers are appreciated!

 

there is also a problem of starting the car! the battery is fine but it seems that I need to try constantly then wait, then it starts? (seems like it does this only when its been driven then parked for a little bit) is the engine flooding? is it related to any of the other problems?

 

The loping idle is usually cause by a vacuum leak.
