d16a6 bored out to 1.8 ?

i doubt it highly, even if it was bored and stroked i would be weary about how thin the cylinder walls would be. not to mention i don't know what combination of parts you could use too accomplish this. moral of the story is if you want a 1.8l, buy a b18.
If you were to even get close to 1.8 then it's going to require aftermarket sleeves.

Maybe suggest ZC pistons to bump the compression.
A cam would finish it off and be sweet with higher compression... but it would move the torque back up in the RPM.

For the cheap cost of older Honda engine these days, i would say hit up a picknpull junk yard and buy a full B18A swap for like $400. It would be cheaper and much much stronger than any d series for the money

I agree problem is he wants new b series to ef mount($250-300 for good ones) a good tune and all that other fun stuff. I May just end up selling him my sohc jdm zc head and tell him thats good enough lol. thanks for the input guys.

If he wants b-series then why in the hell would you sell him a stock sohc head and say good enough? The sohc zc head is the same as a dx or si head minus the very mild cam. Why not listen to deetz and your buddy and go b-series

he can't afford a B series if he could we would go that route.I didn't realize a 1.6 bored out to 1.8 had to be sleeved otherwise I would have never started this thread I know
