98 prelude with drag turbo and vafc, engine doesnt sound right
i have a question. i just put a drag turbo on my 98 prelude and installed a vtec controller. im having problems ive taken it to a couple garages once to get dynoed so i could adjust the vafc and now im having problems when it starts and the engine doesnt sound right. what do you think i should do to tune it. do you think something is not connected right or maybe the problem is with my vafc. Anybody who can help please drop a line. Thanks
you have to be a little more specific in your details of your engine problems...does it die? does it idle funny? etc..
Yes, try to be more specific with the sound. Does it increase linerally as the rpms rise? Is the engine shaking more than normal? I hope it's not a spun bearing!!!
Does the engine run correctly WITHOUT the v-afc installed? If so, then you found your problem. Check the wiring, and go from there. What is probably happening is it is either getting too much or too little fuel at initial start up, you have to mess with the lo % settings. A reputable dyno shop should be able to tune this no problem if it is installed correctly. Please provide us with more specifics as mentioned prior to my post.
