New Suspension, What should I get?
Ok so I am about to finish up my engine work on my 93 hatch, I am putting the Type R motor in. Anyway I need to get new shocks for my suspension, I have fairly new Skunk2 coilovers but the shocks are shot. They are tokico and the gas in them as been worn out. It's pretty much a bounce house. What should I get? They are the white illumina series, but should I get a different brand and if so what brand? Or should I just buy a new set of those tokicos?
Thanks
Thanks
What kind of budget are you working with? What are your intentions for the car? Daily driver/weekend warrior?
I spend $600 on progress CS-II and love the setup. Great entry level setup for budget minded folks. However I will always recommend going the extra $200 and buying Koni/GC and picking rates better suited to what you need. Hard to beat the lifetime warranty and outstanding product.

Well I am not sure it just kinda depends on what I find, the budget isn't what I am worried about at the moment. I just didn't wanna go to high in the price range to where I could just a new set of brand new full coilovers from Tein, Skunk 2 or Pic. But I am not sure really. I will look into the brand you said though.
Koni/Ground control is the only setup under $1000 that has a lifetime warranty.
It's also one of two that allow you to select spring rates that are suiting to your driving needs.
There is honestly a short list of suspension choices as far as many on this board are concerned:
Progress CS-II @$600
Koni/Ground control @$800
AMR@$1300
There really isn't much reason to buy much else at any price point near those. All of those are superior products with tons of R&D and market saturation.
Koni/Ground control is widely regarded as the best bang/buck period for any purpose.
