H22 swap in 90 Accord Wire Harness Issue
Ok here goes got the ecu plugged in and most of the engine and chassis harness but came to a stuck point , now in the pics im posting i have a two harness connectors of the chassis that have no friends lol seems like the one for the stock coil on the f22 the plug in for that and the distributor are slightly different on the h22 engine harness
these two are on the chassis harness for the accord cb7-90
both have been traced on the f22 to the distributor and coil and a few sensor signal wires on the back of the block

both wires on the back of the plug are black with a white stripe
this plug is on the engine harness for the h22a1

Shot at 2011-07-18now what im curious of is do i or should i clip the conectors of the donor prelude and hard wire them in or am in for a world of wtf and hard wiring junk in?
any feed back would be awesome , i could look up wire schematics but if someone alreadys knows what is going on with these two it would speed the process up alot
thanks ........RSR_mike

the top three are on your chassis that should be right by your fuse box connected to the strut tower the bottom one kinda looks like a vss censor but im not sure it should be on the back of your trans clost to your rear mount
I had to check with a buddy in memphis and he said i need to use the harness off the f22 so i did but now im at another stuck point how am i wiring in the coil its external on the h22 and internal on the f22 and the f22 engine harness does not support an external so i got a black wire yellow stripe and a solid yellow and a solid blue im going to be going over some diagrams tonight and im sure ill find what im looking for so i may remove this post in the morning
Ok so i have been searching for a bit now and going over wire diagrams and numorus posts over many sites and been to google alot....!!!!! anyway everyone is talking about swapping to internal coil well thats not what i want to do here i want to keep it external and need to know how to splice the cb7 harness to work with an external coilo so far i cant find a post on it anywhere if you know of one post it
Instead of changing the harness to fit the distributor and coil, change the distributor and coil to fit the harness.
Most people go from external to internal. Just do a search and do the opposite.

.................UPDATE..............
Ok to do an internal coil to external coil swap with a harness set up for internal, here is what you do , you need to re wire your engine harness a little,
1. locate your original internal coil wires one is black with a yellow stripe and the other is a small blue wire .
2. now cut those with at least 6in legnth on the wires from the plug set it aside
3. off your h22 harness locate the plug for your external coil there should be a large yellow wire and the black wire with yellow stripe and a blue wire.
4. the yellow wire now goes to the black with yellow stripe on the plug you set aside
5. the black and yellow wire on the harness conects to the black and yellow on the external coil
6.the blue wire on the coil conects to the blue wire on the harness it goes to the ecu
----note---- all manuals for the prelude and the accord are on line just google them it will greatly help you if you need something to look at while doing this conversion.

Smart people don't mess with 25 year old engine harnesses that cost 1000 dollars to get new from the dealer and are a pain to get out of the car at the junkyard, they just rewire a distributor that costs 100 dollars to buy brand new if anything goes wrong.
