What shortblocks are compatible with a D16Y8
I recently bought a 99 civic ex. The previous owner spun a bearing and pulled the motor. I dont know whole story but i have a civic with complete y8 motor minus the short block.
After searching around it seems every y8 motor for sale has a spun bearing. I just wanna throw a block in it and call it a day. I read that a y7 block may work with the y8 head. Is this true? If it will work is there any other things i should know. Are there any other blocks that will work?

So if I pick up a y7 or y5 block all I need to swap over is the knock sensor? I assume I would just have to drill an tap out the hole on the new block. Will any y7 or y5 block work or are there differences from say a 1997 and a 1999 y7 or y5 block?
