louder/harder Vtec throttle body spacer question?
i have a 97 civic with an h22 civic and i was wondering if putting a throttle body spacer will make vtec crack louder or harder? i have a skunk 2 Intake manifold and throttle body sorry for stupid question just wanted to know if any of that was true?
I put one on my si (when I had one) and it made a noticeable, distinctive sound throughout he entire rev band, however it wasn't significantly louder. It had aftermarket i/h/e and stock IM.
well i have short ram K&N intake skunk 2 IM skunk 2 TB and custom magnaflow exhaust.
what size spacer would i need to get?
also what sound did it make if you said that it wasn't just vtec it was throughout the entire revs

VTEC should not kick in "hard". That means it's set at the wrong RPM point. It should not be noticeable except for the sound.
As for a throttle body spacer doing anything, that's debatable. It changes the volume of the intake manifold, which is designed the way it is for a reason. As the air comes it, it bounces off closed valves and then back in when it bounces off the inside of the manifold. Every dimension is the way it is for a reason. An engineer at Honda or Skunk2 or Edelbrock probably knows a lot more about this than you do.

I'm not sure of the dimensions as mine was a different size than what your d16 is. Just look it up on ebay for your engine. As for the sound, it was a kind of "whirring through a vacuum" type noise. It sounded cool, but I don't think it did anything for performance.
