Default 90 civic

I have a 1990 honda civic DX that in order to get it to run I need to pour fuel into the carb or throttle body to get it to fire and then sometimes I have to do it several times before it runs but once it is running it does just fine and it can be shut offf for a while and will still restart but if left for several hours or overnite you go thru the whole routine again any ideas
