hey im new to this whats up guys, my buddy has a 97 civix ex, canadian model d16y7 i think non vtec completely stock, now the lights used to flicker after you reved the car past 2k rpm, i thought it was the alternator, so i unbolted the main wire to the battery and the 3 wire plug and they stopped flickering so i was sure it was the alternator (theory not yet proven due to...) so i got a used one and it started, ran fine, turned it off n back on n the alternator seized , my firneds short on cash and a new one isnt an option, or rebuilt since its about the same as a new one,

would an obd1 or obd0 work on this car,
can i and how would i convert a 3 wire plug (from car) into a 4 wire plug (to alt.)
also would an alternator off of a b16 work, not sure what model but it is also obd1 or obd0, i was it was a 1st gen b16
also the car is 5speed
