Icon2 AEM F/IC issues

I'm wiring a AEM F/IC unite into my 93 civic and I'm getting a check engine. Code 9 for cylinder position sensor. Now when I remover the F/IC and plug in the bypass harness the code goes away only when the F/IC is plugged in do I get the code.
I've checked the wiring diagrams over and over and everything is right. The only thing I can think of is I'm using an obd 2 wiring harness and distributor and maybe it's causing a problem.

Any help on the matter would be awesome!!! because the dyno shop won't tune it till that code is gone

Then they don't know the F I/C. Time to go elsewhere or use something else.

Because being in California he may have to go back to stock again for his emissions (C.A.R.B) and smog, and going back OBD1 may not be an option for him. There is a world outside of the Hondata/Neptune world for specific purposes. Those SMOG ***** get pretty bad down there. Its not for everyone.

For the OP, you may want to check the wiring of the setup, or go to Boomslang USA to have the correct harness to see if it eliminates the code once you put it back to stock.

It's a 93 Civic, why couldn't you pass emissions with a stock ecu and a rom editor on it?

Seriously, get rid of the FIC and put an S300 on it.

Thanks for the feed back guys! But spending $600 on the s300 to me is a little much when I don't have a full build. Just seems kinda pointless especially when I got the FIC for $200 brand new. After looking into it I am going to boomslang method it's just a lot easier. And as for smog I live in a place in cali that only smogs when you purchase a car not every two years. Not to mention I'm running a b20 that isn't smog legal in Cali any way. but again thanks guys for your comments it has helped huge!!!

Totally wrong... The $400 you saved can't even compensate for a bad running car after being charged for one tuning session.

For a '93 Civic, there is absolutely no point in running the AEM FIC, full build or not. It is due to simplicity, and popularity that makes OBD-I tuning superior in every way.
