throw out bearing or input shaft bearing??
here's the symptoms:
At first with the clutch engaged (pedal up) at idle it makes a knocking sound but when I push the clutch in, the sound goes away, and above about 3500 rpms it made a whinding noise.
Now I hear a chatter type sound when the clutch disengaged (pedal down) and it is really hard to put it in gear and when it goes go into gear i hear a grinding noise and the car seems like it wants to stall out.
clutch is a clutchmasters fx400 and only has roughly 5,000 miles on it...
what do you guys think

well you have to take the tranny out either way so start by doing that. once you have it out you can check if your clutch springs arent broken or missing and you can check your input shaft as well by spinning it by hand. and of course your throw out bearing following your pilot bearing.
Yeah i had a flatbed come and pick it up yesterday to take it to a tranny shop, i would do it myself, but i have a newborn at the house with a two year old and my wife got sliced open so i can't leave her alone for too long, she's trying to heal....
what would cause the spring(s) to break? the clutch only has around 5,000 miles on it? I'm not even really hard on it...becides city driving that is

your isb is shot too.
cause if sounds go away when its in tats ur isb blown.
the grinding is the clutch springs.
so seems u have more then one problem here.

the shop figured it out...the throw out bearing was bad, but on top of that, a couple of the flywheel bolts loosened up and backed out and somehow tore up the face of clutch disk (including the springs), and one bolt was hanging out a lot and was preventing the pressure plate from pushing down all the way...this sucks because he said the friction pads were still "mint", and a couple of the dowl pins here messed up i just put this bad boy in last fall so there was 500 down the drain...
I don't know why the bolts would have backed out, i used locktite and torqued them all to spec.
im gonna go up there later and take pics
ISB is perfectly fine...thank god
