Default ZC CRX HELP!!!

So i did a ZC 1.6L DOHC swap in my 89 crx and we just got it running but it runs like absolute crap. When you have your foot on the gas it runs bad and when you take your foot off the gas it bogs out and stalls. could this be a vacuum problem? This is the intake I have. Is it the right intake for the engine?? if so are the vacuum lines hooked up right?? Any help would be awsome. This is starting to frusterate me

is this a JDM DOHC ZC? what year? - that intake manifold is from 86-87 USDM Integra D16A1 or could be from 84-87 JDM "browntop" DOHC ZC - it is not from 88-91 JDM DOHC ZC - this is intake for 88-91 JDM DOHC ZC with manual transmission:

The 2 vacuum lines on the back of the manifold need to be plugged, the ZC engine you have is from an automatic vehicle.

try a vacuum gauge test on the motor, they can tell you a lot and they are cheap.

I'm not saying that will solve your problem for sure as it could be something else, but that very well *could* be it. Try it and let us know. I have a DOHC ZC in my CRX and those 2 lines are plugged and I researched why and it has something to do with the automatic transmission it was paired with before my car.

with serial number beginning with '2', your engine is 88-91 - the intake manifold you have is definitely not the 88-91 DOHC ZC intake manifold - it appears to me to be from 86-87 Integra D16A1

vacuum lines required:

1. from smaller port on front of manifold - hose to fuel pressure regulator
2. from port on back of manifold, closest to throttle body - hose to bottom of purge cut-off solenoid on firewall
3. hose from side of purge cut-off solenoid to charcoal canister
4. hose from charcoal canister to 'L' shaped nipple on throttle body
5. hose from nipple on throttle body closest to front of car, to bottom of MAP sensor on firewall - usually has a 'tee' with another short hose with cap
6. large hose to brake booster
7. large hose to PCV valve from port on back of manifold
8. cap all unused other ports on manifold
9. do not combine hoses to purge and MAP with a tee - run separate hoses

Hey man, I know this is a dead thread but you seem to know a lot about ZC engines and I just bought a civic with a ZC D16a9 engine. I was hoping you might be able to help identify certain things.

1. Does this thing have an O2 sensor stock? It came with headers and exhaust, but there is no o2 anywhere on the car.
2. If it does have one, how do I find it? Everywhere I turn they only have one for the SOHC.
3. If it doesn't have one, any idea why it would have horrible gas mileage? I'm getting roughly 10-15mpg.

Really appreciate any help. I have a tone of photos if that would help.

TY!

the D16A9 did not use a catalytic converter and therefore did not have an O2 sensor - the A9 had an IMA sensor instead - what ECU does it have?

It has a P29 ECU. The car is getting around 10mpg or less atm. I am struggling with this car. Just got it, but the whole point was to have an econo box that was fun to drive.
