94 Accord EX Fast IDLE when HOT!
I have 94 Accord EX that is stock except for a cold air intake. Car idles fine when cold and while driving to work in the morning. Once the outside temperature rises (100+) in N TX and the car warms up, the car idles at 2000rpm or greater when in neutral. At times it revs so fast in Drive, I am afraid that I am going to rear end the car in front of me at red lights. EGR valve was replaced prior to this problem starting. Shop that replaced EGR has checked valve and for vacuum leaks and cannot find anything wrong. I have checked and cleaned FITV and IAC per posts in this forum. The car seems to run very hot, but temp gauge is in a normal range. Any ideas on what to check next?
I love the car, but is a DD and I need it fixed ASAP
Thanks.

I only have this problem when the outside temp and the car warms up. I drove last night and the car did not have any issues. Yes the problems started when the EGR was replaced. The problem seems to be temperature related, but I don't know where to start looking.
First thing, I'd check is the cold air intake for leaks when it heats up. It could be the egr valve gasket area. Take it off and see if it's clean. If not, use a scraper to gently remove all material. That thing gets hot it could be springing a leak where the gasket sits when it gets hot.
You can also fill up a squirt bottle with water and spray a gentle mist around the engine to find the leak.

Any update to this problem? I have the same problem on my 05 accord. Mechanic found no leaks. Replaced tps, still idles high. Cleaned MAF sensor, didn't help. I have no idea where the egr valve is, so any advice is helpful!
