Best place to look for swap
I've been trying to look for a swap for my 92-95 civic and it's proving to be very elusive. If any of you know where I can find a nice low mileage d16z6, d16y8 for $250-$400 or a b18b1, b16a2 full swap for a very good deal, then hit me up.
Outside of dealing with a reputable company you really are rolling dice on the engine you get. If you want to save money you need to roll dice.
Local craigslist or tuner forum would be a good place to start. Some junkyards can even offer great deals on replacement stuff too.
Some salvage yards offer a very limited warranty for engines. If you're lucky to find one that offers one you'll probably wind up paying more money.
yes junkyards are kinda a gamble but if you keep looking you will find one i found a b18c1 complete swap that i walked out with for only $1000 did i run? idk i got to nervous about it and sold it before i put it in o and plus the speeding tickets were a factor in my selling purposes too but i mean google sunrise motors, tiger japanese motors, hmotor like they said theres tons man just gotta know what to google
Craigslist, junkyard are all good places. At Pick N Pull, you'll find alot of swapped hatches. Be sure to do a compression test. After that, you're good to go. HMO? I can find other reputable JDM importers that offers competitive prices. Just got to know where to look.
I'm currently running a complete stock longblock 95 B18C1 off craigslist. Bought it off some white kid not too far from where I live. About a 20 minute freeway drive.

the deals are there. i am waiting for parts of a J swap to come together. again... already have the motor, shipped to my door 825. transmission with LSD for 980 picked up 400 miles away. those are the hard parts. now for the little stuff.
quality swaps arent cheap. put your money in the proper places if you are willing to invest in your car.
