Default MM 95 coupe project!

***THREAD REVIVAL.

A lot of changes have been made since I last updated. I decided to switch gears and go all motor, since I want this car to see road courses more than anything else. Boost in my mind, was not suitable for my plans with this car.

With that being said, I picked up a b16 for cheap...that didn't last more than a month. Motor was knocking less than 500 miles later.
So, i decided to pick up a fresh GSR block with p30 pistons already installed. I had some problems before it was even running and that's what has brought me to my rebuild now. I had an injector get stuck open so bad that to the point when the motor was cranking, fuel was POURING out of the collector on the header. Neadless to say, i washed out all the compression I had.

SO!

Plans for this winter are as follows (keep in mind this is a budget track build.):

.020 over on the gsr bottom end
Oversized ctr pistons on stock rods
possible decking, if needed
arp rod bolts
b16 head with itr valvetrain and cams
itr intake manifold with a portmatched throttle body (68 or 70mm) can't decide
3 inch intake with V-stack
skunk2 alpha header

Suspension/brakes:
new wheel bearings front and rear
arp extended wheel studs
PIC select coilovers 12k/14k
usdm ITR rear sway
ITR front calipers
2007 mini cooper front rotors
hawk hps+ pads

Also thinking about doing an autopower cage and buddy club seats.

Other than that, it is a basic rebuild and should be a fun car to do some events in.

This is how it looked a few weeks before I put it away!

Got another car to bore you guys with. I picked it up about a month and a half ago from a good friend of mine who basically gave up on the project. You guys would **** if you found out how cheap I got it for. I took part in everything he did on the car, so it's basically like it was my car as well. I watched every new part get installed.

It's a 1995 EX, with ABS. So minus the abs, I have a decent brake platform to start with. Power options are nice as well The body is actually quite clean for being a midwest car it's entire life, 10+ years in this area alone. (Some guy i bumped into at the bar a couple weeks ago, claimed he owned the car 10 years ago. Hes like "yeah, i put that Greddy sticker on the windsheild!" weird.)

Anyways, onto the goods!

D16z6
Bottom end bored to 75.5
CP (9:1) Pistons
Crower Rods
Polished Crank
Head was hot tanked and cleaned, stock ports
Oversized Supertech valves
Crower springs&retainers
Crower stage2 turbo cam
AEM cam gear
ARP headstuds
BWR ramhorn manifold
Garrett .50 trim (I dont know the serial.)
Turbosmart 38mm wastegate
2.5 downpipe with 2.5 straight pipe & muffler.
All IC piping is from the stock greddy kit that was previously on there.
Gates timing belt
MSD crap.
Stock intake manifold
brand new ACT 6 puck clutch.
Short shifter with energy suspension bushings.
AGX/Eibach Pro combo
Kosei K1's with RE-11s
Autometer Boost Gauge
Apexi Turbo Timer
Greddy Profec-B EBC

Okay, so that's the gist of what was included. It really needed some love there was a ton of hacked wiring under the dash (someone tried a DIY alarm install.) He was running the stock ecu and stock injectors, with greddy emanage bullshit. Also a vortec FMU, woof!

So naturally the first thing I did was pick up some injectors. I got some RC 550s for pretty cheap, and threw those in, wired up a resistor box, and ditched the FMU quick. That same day Brandon@ RC hooked it up with a chipped p06 on crome, to at least get me going for the time being.

A few days later I picked up an AEM uego wideband, so that we could street tune while I'm saving for a tune. (I will probably be bringing it to ProFunction.) Also picked up a set of Hasport mounts because the car came with stock mounts filled with window weld, and they were rocking very hard.

So my plans for this car are as follows...(off the top of my head.)

-3 inch SS exhaust with vibrant muffler (already have a 3inch ss downpipe.)
-2.5 IC piping done by Bob@RC
-New Radiator
-Tune (obviously)
-Lots of MISC stuff, suspension wise.
-Possible port work.
**Hoping for 350WHP.

First day home:

Hasports:

Mounts in, Cruise control gone.

Injectors in

MINTY interior

Been doing a lot of work this week, so I haven't posted obviously!

I'm waiting for some parts at the moment (rear control arm bushings, GRRR.) but, everything is disassembled at this point.

Plan for this leg of the build is to replace every steering/suspension/brake part I possibly can. I hate having a shitty, unreponsive feeling car. I need to be able to crack some turns

Ill be re-using the Function&Form Type1's that were on my Delsol, I will down the road get better rates for them though.

I picked up Blox front UCA's with upgraded competition series bushings (so I don't crumble my shock tower.) Yeah yeah, everyone hates on Blox, but as long as you grease up the ball joint, they last quite a bit.

I am also replacing all the bushings (front and rear) with EnergySuspension components, everyone hates on these as well, but I figured I'd give them a shot since I got the entire front kit for DIRT cheap....10 bucks.....

Other parts I have accumulated:
-New steering column (thanks to some douche who broke my ignition trying to steal the car.
-Brand new power steering rack, with new outer tie rods (I will be looping the rack)
-EnergySuspension steering rack bushings
-EnergySuspension Sway bar endlinks
-A headache.....

....Of course two of my rear LCA bolts were frozen on the passenger side. It is all taken care of now, but it was a pain in my ***. And all 3 on the driver side came out in a breeze, it makes no sense to me...

But, WHATEVER..I'm sure you guys just want pictures at this point..

Column out:

90% of power steering crap gone:

Subframe finally out:

My mess:

Also, working on my other set of a wheels a bit....I am really feeling them, Feedback is nice!

A little gone....

Little more...

And almost done (where I'm at now.)

Been doing some work...trying to save some money.

valve cover off:

Stripping:

Done-zo, not bad for my first attempt with this paint.

And on, looks SO much better:

Out with the old, in with the new (also got subframe re-installed.)

And now for the "fun," I got 10 down, and 6 to go.

Shambles:

Did a little work this weekend, wanted to relax a bit as I took the whole weekend off from work...

-I got all the ES bushings out, and installed all the new ones (easiest install eVeR.)
-Installed the front LCAs, Sway bar/end links, got the shift linkage back up.

Now I have to pick up some new rear lca bolts from honda so I can throw the suspension on the rear. Hoping to be all done by then end of the week

My last update before this car is on the ground!!!?!

I finally got the front uca Bushings out, and the new ones pressed in.
These were by far the worst of all, since they are somewhat flared out.

Also, after work I'm stopping at honda to pick up some new rear lower control ARM bolts!

These explain themselves....

Love it! Another Dirty D build (yes, it's done...but you're plan is not to swap a B or K in)

The K-1's are growing on me as I see them on more EGs. Why did you change it up?

Those 550's enough to get you to 350whp??

You've got the head done...Think you'll do Intake/TB before the tune? I would think 350 would be EASILY accomplished if you had the intake done.

Good luck!!

Thanks man! I decided to ditch the Koseis because, I really like these weds. Yes, they are 16s, but they hit me in a weird way.

As far as injectors, I'm hoping they'll be enough. I found them locally for cheap, hence why it was kind of a no brainer. And I want to pick up an edlebrock or skunk2 manifold unsure of what throttle body though. Also. A walbro255 before tune.

Oh it did not have a 255 on there?!?! Yikes.

I'm not sure about those injectors, but it's worth checking into.

I have an edelbrock going on my build now (check it out a few posts down if you'd like). I put an OEM GSR TB on it (direct fit, with no FITV). Something to think about... It's 4mm bigger in dia.

I may cruise up with some friends who are racing, but I snoozed on getting a spot this year.

Thanks man! You really just need a nice clean crx to stick with, Haha.

I have a Xenocron 255 and a hondata 4 bar map on the way! Hopefully they will be here in time for the tune!

Big ups to Xenocron tuning! Received my fuel pump and 4 bar map today. Their fuel pump was half the price of a walbro, and the fitment was perfect! The sock was even the same size. Very satisfied with the product.

...and I cannot wait for tune day, I know I won't be able to hit 350 whp, because of my injectors but I just don't have the money to upgrade at this time. I just want everything dialed in so I can beat on this hoe!!!

So I got bored before work today and decided to try and stop some of the massive heat being produced under the hood. I tried hood spacers, but I hate the look they give off. This is what I did, not as clean as of like, because the runners are nearly touching.

Downpipe done.

Manifold almost done, ran out of wrap.
