Starting Issues.. Starter? ECU? Loose ground?
Vehicle: 2000 Civic Ex coupe...
Went to start the other night and nothing. One click noise. When I tried holding the starter I started to hear the ECU making some fast ticking noises...
Initially the dome light didn't come on so I thought maybe it was the battery. Tried to jump start it, but nothing. Banged on the starter with a 3/4 wrench and nothing. Tried cycling the key and starting multiple times but nothing. Then one lucky crank got it to start up.
Here's where it got tricky. I was able to drive it home, turned it off and restarted it about 3 times. SO I thought all was good. Tried starting it this morning before work and no luck. However when it started the first time, all my radio presets were back to factory installation, as if my battery had been disconnected. Im thinking maybe a loose engine ground or battery ground?
Any advice on this?
