Icon2 buying a swapped honda in CA and registering it in IL??

I am from the Chicago area and am planning to buy a honda in LA and drive it back to Chicago. I would like to buy a GSR teg, but also looking into swapped civics. Does anyone know the process for doing this? My friend told me that IL doesn't allow hondas with JDM swaps, and he also said something about the car being BAR legal or something? Not sure what that means. Need some help. Thanks!

Call an inspection place and ask. There might even be info online.

I'm from Rockford, IL...west of Chi Town. Illinois has absolutely NO inspections whatsoever. If you got a signed title then you got yourself registration and plates. The chances of a cop pulling you over, popping your hood, and writing you a ticket for various (and worthless) unlawful engine modifications is slim to none, I promise. Drive that mug back here and beat the streets man.
