Default Need help B16A2 into 99 EX

so my y8 got a hole in the block somewhere RIP.

I'm looking to put a b16a2 into it now, but I need to know everything that I'll need to make a complete swap. The way I see it, being a 99 EX the b16a2 swap should all fit almost perfectly but I need specifics.

Also anyone know where I could buy a complete swap? I think i'd prefer it be a rebuilt engine from a shop than something with a ton of miles on it. Also it has to be an A2, I need to stay smog legal here in CA and i'd prefer it just be from a same generation Si. Thanks ahead of time

You will need the longblock, transmission, engine and trans mounts, shift linkage, axles, wiring harness and so on. Just spend some time reading and you can figure all the basics out and save threads for specific questions.

All that MINUS the wire harness, you already have an EX chassis which means all your plugs should mate up to the b series motor.

And you will also need an ecu.

@Hero I have looked at it but I haven't been able to confirm what will fit already since I have an EX.

Also anyone know where I can buy a complete swap?

HMO? LOL @ $x,xxx amount of money for a stock B16. Where do you live in CA? I will try to help you out as much as I can. I live in N. Cal.

30004 - B16A 92-95 or 96-98 (SiR-II) Motor, Tranny, ECU
170Hp 113Trq 10.4 Compression (JDM)
$ 2150.00 Plus shipping and handling 92-95 Spec
$ 2350.00 Plus shipping and handling 96-98 Spec

30008 - B18C 94-97 (GSR) Motor, Tranny, ECU
180Hp 126Trq 10.6 Compression (JDM)
$ 2699.00 Plus shipping and handling.

You're paying for a motor that won't pass visual on none of these motors unless you find one that is 99-00 compliant. I bet for those two years, they will charge you a few more benjamins too. And you will need to convert to USDM specs for pass Smog/BAR. You will be able to pass smog with a JDM motor but you need to spend more time and money in doing so.

Best bet is to find a cheap used (99-00) B16A2 or better yet a B18C1 and rebuild it to your own power/performance specs. If you get lucky, you may be able to find a low mile USDM complete B16A2 with ECU and wire harness from a total or wreck car. For a complete plug and play.
