B18 swap issue need help
I just finished a B18a1 integra engine swap into a 1990 SI HB. Everything went in like it should and the car started right up with no issues and sounds and runs great.
Now my issues, once the engine reached operating temp and the fan kicked in it will not shut down but runs continuesly. The upper rad hose is warm and the lower is cool.
I should also mention here that I replaced with new parts the thermostat, all hoses, new acura Heavy Duty rad. and cap. (and I have bled the system with the spit valve several times now and topped up the rad and overflow)
I have run into issues where the thermal fan switch dies and the fan does not come on but this is the reverse as I stated it comes on at operating temp but then will not shut down unless I turn the ignition off. If I wait a few minutes and then fire it back up it will run fine until the engine heats up enough and the fan will again turn on and then will not shut down again.
Is it possible that the thermal fan switch (not new) is worn enough that it will turn on when needed but the relay will not kick out when the temp has dropped back down where it should be? If so I have never experienced this before.
My second issue is that after about 15-20 minutes of driving the engine light comes on and it appears to be throwing code 01. or a very very slow code 10. I replaced the o2 sensor on the exhaust manifold as per code 01 information but this had no effect.
I will have to borrow an ohm and a volt meter to check the IAT sensor and plug in. Apart from the fan not turning off and the engine light coming on the car runs and performs just fine but it will not go through our vehicle inspection and emissions system test as is. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
