What can cause water to leak from the front of the engine? Could it be the Valve cover gasket and if so, is it a major problem? How do you fix it? Oil is not leaking and neither is transmission fluid.

Where in the front? Probably from a coolant hose. I had a leak and couldn't find it a few months ago. Put uv dye in the system and found out my hoses from the block to the heater core were hosed, probably the easiest way to find your leak.

Open the hood, is it a greenish color on the ground, that is coolant.

Check the front where the radiator cap is (metal cap near hood latch) check the top of the radiator see if it wet, follow that hose to the engine see if it torn or wet, do not take that cap off if the car is hot.

Look under the hood and all of the hoses they are noticeble see if you see drips off wetness.

Park the car overnight, and see if there are puddles, if it is on the right side (looking from the hood side) and there is a puddle on the right side say below the dickstick area, might a waterpump leak (expensive since you would get a timing belt done at the same time).

Report back and tell us what you see.

^ Unless hes a real OG and running only water in his system... Dye really helps alot, but it shouldn't be hard to find the problem, check all hoses and check where they connect.

I use a 50/50 coolant. I had my top radiator hose replaced. None of the other hoses has any cracks or holes. The leak is from the left side (standing in front of the hood).

this may sound dumb but some people are not aware.

are you finding just water?, if so is it hot and are you running the ac? if so it just nothing the ac system takes the humidity out of the air and has a drain tube which water leaks onto the ground all cars do this. if not dabb your finger into the puddle and see what it is. then post back

You might have to take it to a shop and put it on a lift, there some hoses at the bottom of the engine that are harder to see, typically a shop might not charge you just to give a quick look.

Thanks for the advice. I might have to do that if the leak gets worse.
