Default Taillight Tint install

i've got a 92 accord ex and i'm thinking about applying some tint film over my taillights... Please give me some tips on doing this right and how to get the best result... Also i'm not sure if using a household cleaner on my tailights before installation is bad or good .. What did you use to clean them before putting tint on???

Thanks

Household cleaner should do the trick, and anything ammonia based should be residue free.

...Though, I would just skip the tint.

No no no no no no no!!!!!

You do not want to use anything ammonia based for applying or cleaning tint. It will absolutely ruin it. Clean the lights with something like Stoner's Invisible Glass which is tint safe.

Apply the tint by spraying a heavily diluted mixture of baby shampoo and water so you can move it around then squeegee out the liquid when it's been lined up properly.

Alternatively use something like VHT Nightshades and do light coats of the tinting spray or Lamin-X which is a 'tint' like film.
