Default Accord & Torneo...parts interchangable?

Hi guys, I'm new here...I search a bit, but I don't see much about the Torneo in general. I live in Japan and I have a 1998 SOHC Torneo. Its been a great car, and I really want to improve it a bit for road trips. Cruise control is very abnormal here, and very few cars have it (even brand new)...needless to say my Torneo doesn't have it.

So my question is, will the 1998 Accord's cruise control module work in my Torneo?

I can get the Accord parts off ebay very cheap....the used parts market is not friendly for a non-Japanese speaking people (me)...and buying new is extremely cost prohibative. This is why I want to find out if I can buy a cheap used Accord part on ebay for the Torneo....thanks

I think you need to check the difference between throttle bodies. The cruise control probably uses a drive-by-wire throttle.

Other than that, lots of parts are interchangeable. particularly suspension parts!

What is your chassis number?

I am at my wit’s end trying to help my brother-in-law who lives in Jamaica. During the heavy rains, he had gotten into a car wreck (no injuries), but cannot get a specific auto-part from Honda. His car, a Honda Torneo; Year 2000; Model code: E-CF4; was not made for the USA market; hence me being unable to assist with finding all four (4) exterior door handles for the Honda Torneo; Year 2000; Model code: E-CF4; Exterior Color: NH-616M

If anyone on this board can assist in any way, it would be much appreciated.

Thank you.

Which engine do you have in the Torneo?
1.8 L F18B VTEC I4
2.0 L F20B SOHC VTEC I4
2.0 L F20B DOHC VTEC I4
2.2 L H22A DOHC VTEC I4

I would think if it's running the similiar engine, the rest should line up for the most part,
?

I think the closest US engine this will match up to is the H22A, found in the Prelude.

@gourmetghetto, I wasn't answering your question. You should have made a separate thread. I have no idea on how to find your door handles.

99stockcivic, thank you for your suggestion (to start a new thread). I tried to start a new thread; however, I was informed via popup that I do not have permission to start a thread.

@gourmetghetto

Ah, didn't realize you were unable to do that. Are you able to wander in a junkyard, bring one of your handles with you, and just take apart Honda's from the same era to see if one fits? Because you are definitely going to have a really hard time finding those door handles.

More than likely you will find that Accord SiR/Sir-T are the same as they are both CF4/CH9/CL1/CL2 chassis cars. These were only available in Japan. Check with Honda JDM importers.
