Default bad IAC sensor??

so i have a jdm b16a SiRII that had a itr intake manifold on it... i replaced the mani gasket and cracked the itr manifold and had to get a stock b16 one from my friend. it doesnt have any place to plug in the intake air temp sensor (IAT) so i dont have that in and thus im throwing a code. my problem is that when i let the clutch out and give it some gas i get a quick surging idle until i ride the clutch a little bit. I am using the idle air control valve that came with the stock b16 mani. could that sensor be bad thus causing my surging idle?? and can i put the IAC from my itr manifold onto the b16 manifold to see if thats the problem??

Thanks in advance!

You can find one of those sensors for under $20. Fix that cel and it might fix your problem. Also it doesn't hurt to try and swap the iacv, it will most likely fit.

i plan on getting the crack in my itr manifold welded by friends hook up who is a professional welder. The itr mani has a spot for the Idle Air Temp sensor but the b16 mani doesnt.... and i will try putting the IAC off the itr onto the b16

It's probably a manifold from a B16A2 if it doesn't have provisions for an IAT sensor. The IAT sensor for the B16A2 is located on the intake pipe a few inches from the throttle body inlet.

I am unsure if you can use the OBD2 IAT sensor with an OBD1 engine. I am positive the connectors are different.

Pretty sure you can use the Type R's IACV with the B16. Maybe someone else can confirm this.

I don't see why it wouldn't work if you mounted the AIT from the Type R manifold onto the whale pp intake. But you would have to permanently alter the intake and wiring (cut hole(s) in the intake tube and extend the AIT wiring).

Yea I don't want to do that. I think ill just swap IAC sensors and see how that works and wait for my itr mani to get welded to figure out the cel
