I think my car has a miss.....but it only happens when I am running the a/c--- no a/c---runs perfectly fine. Its very few and far between though. Only really noticeable on highway over 65 mph, and going up hills - so under stress I guess. Turn the a/c off.....and car runs perfect.

Any clues? Im stumped-

Yes!! I think that my car is doing the same thing! I have only owned it a few days, and have just been told by a shop that the A/C compressor was going out. (It also is making the squealing when I accelerate and quits when I shut the A/C off. Which it didn't make this noise before I had it recharged.)

I was trying to describe what you were calling a miss as maybe a slipping while driving down the freeway over 65 and mine also does not do it when the A/C is off. Unfortunately I live in Phoenix and it is 110 so this is not a permanent solution. Does anyone have ideas? Is it really the compressor going out or was the shop trying to get me to cough up $700 for nothing?

That could be a loose or contaminated belt...

 

Maybe check the ignition timing. Has it had a tune up lately?
