I've got a 95 gsr and I recently my tranny lost reverse completely, won't even shift into it, also 4th and possibly 5th gear synchros are pretty shot. Would it be cheaper to have the tranny rebuilt, possibly w/ type-r final drive drive gear and lsd, or should I just buy a new tranny, either from a B18C or B16? I'm going all motor so I'd like the closer gear ratio's of the B16, I was just wondering whether it would be cheaper to rebuild or buy one. If I bought one, labor would be free of course, but I don't know how much transmissions shops charge to take it apart and build it.
