B18c Type-R JDM Motor/Fire Cut When Impact on Road
Hi,
I have a question and maybe some of you may help me.
I have a B18c Type-R JDM on my 96 civic. ECU is chipped, Air Intake, Headers & Exhaust. I also have a dropped suspension.
The problem i have now is when i am on the road with the car and run over a hole in the street or anything that cause a solid impact, the fire cut. The revolution go from 3-4000 to 0. Sometime when i push the clutch he comeback to 900rpm. Sometime he doesn't go back to 900 and stall. I can restart it without any problem.
I changed the air filter and the sparkplugs this morning. The battery ground looks good and is solid but i still have the problem.
I wonder if it's the engine supports or maybe too stiff suspension?
If you have any idea what that can be, please let me know
Thank you verry much,
Sam

Check your plug wires and grounds, it sounds like a ignition/continuity problem.
I had a similar problem. I installed a msd cap/ wire combo and amplifier and the same thing happened to me when I would hit a bump. Engine would sputter and come back. It turned out to be the wire from the cap to the amp was not completely seated on the cap. I seated it securely/properly and it went away. Hope you figure it out - good luck.
