guage cluster? i got a new cluster from the junkyard, and when i went to clean away the dirt from the clear plastic, i think the towel i used had armor-all on it. so now it's all blurry and hurts my eyes to look at at night.
i tried some windex, water, and alcohol. neither really seemed to work.
what can i use that won't damage the plastic but clear away all the residue on the surface???

I can think of the name now but there is a company that makes a foaming glass cleaner in a metal spray can, that stuff is the ****! I'll get the name of it tomorrow if somebody doesn't post it by then

windex is not good to use on plastic, it will leave surface scratches, aka fog. when i am at work and have to clean plexi glass I use lysol foam-cleaner and water. the lysol foam cleaner is really good at cutting grease (u could probably replace this agent with a good dish dish soap) then I use filtered water a few times to get the residue off that the cleaner leaves on. Some of the foggyness that is on the plastic could be due to the windex though. If all else fails find some one who has a stationary buffer and buff the shitt shiny again.

let me clarify, any glass cleaner that has ammonia in it is not good to use on plastic (plexiglass) I have had tons of first hand experience with this. trust me.

thanks for all the suggestions.
i got sick of it and took the plastic off and swapped it out with the plastic from my DX cluster. it's clear as can be...just a lil spotty/dirty.
i was afraid to wash the DX plastic tho, didn't want what happened to the EX one to happen to this one. so i'll try to find some of that foam deal you mentioned.

to clean my cluster i use Meguiar's Mirror Glaze Clear Plastic Detailer #18 which i got at a body shop supply. and to remove small hairline scratches i use Novus #2 Fine Scratch Remover, which i got at a motorcycle dealership (they use it on their windshields) both products work great
