ej8 auto to manual problems
Hi all. I have done auto to manual swap on my 2000 civic d16y8 and i have a few problems:
1. after swap tach don't work
2. back up lights also not working
3. auto pilot also not working
4. my civic has obd2b wiring and I use obd2a p2p ecu with harness from obd2b to obd2a. And problem is that i have 91 error (fuel tank pressure sensor). On my obd2a ecu there is no fuel tank pressure sensor - thats a problem...
Maybe you have some ideas how to solve these problems?

I can tell you how to fix the back up lights and the cruise control, but the tach and tank pressure sensor are probably due to the 2a vs 2b pcm. You really need the proper PCM to make this work. You'll have no trouble selling the P2P - buy the pcm you need and sell the incorrect one.
For reverse lights and the cruise, you can use the connector that used to feed the automatic shifter. Cut the pigtail from the discarded shifter assembly, and use it to wire these items back in. In the picture, I removed the other wires in the pigatail because they're not used. That's why the "flaps" on the connector are up - they unlock the individual pins for removal.

Thanks a lot
but i will have problem to sell this ecu, because i'm from lithuania, and here aren't many people who need this. And here I just can't find obd2b p2p ecu, because nobody is selling it... :/

Well, ok. After looking into this, there is a pin on the OBD2A for the fuel tank pressure sensor, you'll have to move the light green wire from pin A29 of your 2B harness to pin D15 of the 2A computer. Here is a link to a diagram:

I don't think the PCM affects the tach, there should be a blue wire on pin E8 of the instrument cluster, this travels to the ignition modue inside the distributor with no other connections. That's it for factory tachometer wiring.
Edit - there is a service connector that should be around the left rear corner of the engine compartment, it is between the ignition module and the instrument cluster, You could hook up a diagnostic tachometer to check the signal from the ignition module. - Even a spare accessory tach would work. The service connector should be a blue wire with a single pin output.

Thanks you man!! i looked many times into pinouts, I was looking for fuel tank pressure sensor on obd2a, but I just didn't see that pin! I don't know how that happened... Thank you again
and for the tach i will look tomorow
