2002 civic ex right motor oil question

Default 2002 civic ex right motor oil question

[hello...i have 2002 civic ex vtec 1.7L. automatic. i got this car at auction and do not know what type of motor oil was use by previous owner,and now is time to do motor oil change.the oil cap on motor say 5w20,but this car has 104000 miles.i live in the eastern shore delaware,summer temperature can go up to 95-98 or more,and winter down to 19-25.what is best 5w20,5w30,10w30?

I like 5w20 I live in co and your talking 110 durring summer and -10 durring the winter and never had a problem

Use 5w-20. There's no need to use anything else.

thats funny we sold a 2002 civic ex with 104,000 miles on it yesterday at an auction but that was in connecticut . as for the oil i use 5w30.

I use 0w-20 in winter and 5w-30 in summer.

I use 0W-20 all year long. but hey, this question is asked over and over again.... im sure some research on this website would have pulled something up..?

Doesn't it say what oil to use on the cap?
