Icon2 94 Dx Quick Fix Swap in a pinch

So i just picked up a 94 Sedan DX For the lovely Price of..... $20.00!!!
Yes, you did just read that correctly.
and its not in tooo bad of condition either!

Seems that the oil pump went out, and now she knocks like crazy.
But with 236,xxx miles, what do you expect??

So Im going to throw in a B6 that I have because I need this new car on the road YESTERDAY!!

But I noticed at the last minute that I am stupid.
The one is an 8 valve, and ones a 16...

Can I switch heads easily enough?

Is the switch worth it?

And will the intake manifold off the b7 for the b6? because i dont have the b6 one anymore...

I dont want to switch heads unless it is necessary...

Last but not least, i an dputting this thing in tomorrow! so the sooner i can get any info, The more appreciated it will be!!!

So in doing more research, there were 2 B15B6's... on have 60 HP and on has 90...
the 88-89 was the 60
and the 90-91 was the 90

So how can you tell the difference between the two?

Im starting to get worried that this is going to be one SLOW *** CAR
IF it will work at all!

Will the B7 ECU run the B6 Motor?

You can swap heads if the B6 has 4 valve relief pistons. If they're like the D15B8s you wont know until you pull the head.

Hmm, That seems really random that honda would do that...

Ok well does anyone know if the intake mani will bolt up to the b6? Or how about a y7? i just remembered i have a y7 Head sitting somewhere...

Which head would be better for the power?

This car is no race car, it is a stance car, and thats all.
Stance and stereo. Coilovers, Dropforks, 15's, and a solid wall with 2 DC audio 12's behind the seat.

So i need what little power i can oull out of this B6

Thanks again guys

From the money you saved, buy a decent motor for it...D16Z6, B18b1,etc. Why even bother swapping the head?

So are all B6's 8 valves? just some have 16 valve pistons?
Or can i just pull the VC and count the Valves?

So i have learned that you Always do your own testing, and diagnosis.

The guy i bought if from said he ran it out of oil, then it started knocking. Souded like it was comming from the oil pan.

I finally started the blown knocking motor for the first time. It took a little bit of cranking but if finally fired. no power, a little smokey, and TAPPING. Not knocking!. It sounds like a stuck Lifter.
Because it only knocks on the exhaust side, NOT when accelerating. and it comming from the Head.

Any ideas?

Pull the valve cover. Do a valve adjustment. But if he said he ran it out of oil I don't think I'd stop my inspection there. Pull the oil pan.

Pulled the VC, no loose crazy loose rockers to equal the loudness of the knock/Tapping.

I dont have time for this, motor is coming out and the crappy b6 is going in.
