Who can help promote the Import Revolution with Flyers? Aug 6-7 at MIR
I have 20,000 flyers to be allocated to different shops, stores, dealerships, and performance related businesses. If any of you out there in the MD/DC/VA/WV/DE/CT/NC/NJ/PA area can help me out it would be greatly appreciated!
I have the flyers rubber-banded in stacks of 100. If you know of a place or a few places you can get these "Import Revolution" flyers to give me a call at 301-884-9833, I will ship some to you right away, so you can get them on their countertops. I can send you 100, or 200, or 300, or more depending on how many places you can get them out to. Generally I try to get 100 per place, unless they are a high volume store and need more.
If you can help, we really need to get them on countertops as soon as you get them. They aren’t effective if they just get there a week or two before the race.
We would really appreciate the help!

Thanks Adam and Billy, between the facebook thread and here, and my current flyer distribution list, I am burning through all these flyers fast! haha...

i havent heard this event mentioned outside of this forum. and imo the spectators you want to target for this type of event arent spending much time @ the local performance shops lately. racers yes but spectators no...
flyers work to an extent but you really need to start advertising on the local radio stations to get the word out. flyers work ok for ifo @ capitol since its such a small venue, but its gonna take radio advertising to fill the stands @ MIR

We mailed out the IREV flyers to 26,000 fans on our spectator mailing list last week. The flyers on here are really for racers and car show enthusiasts. We are doing a small radio buy for this year's IREV event. Just keep in mind the price of radio in the DC market is crazy expensive and the risk of running radio doesnt make as much sense anymore. Especially when radio has become as ineffective as it has become. It doesnt work as well as it used to. The WCF event doesnt even have radio and it draws in over 10,000 fans every year. Word of mouth and a strong following and passionate racers helping to promote the events they love is how great events are started.

Jason send some here. I wouldn't send a stack of 100 but maybe 50. We're out of ohio but have attended WCF and i'm bringing my car so we will see how many we can get out that way.

i agree as far as racer turnout is concerned. but spectator turnout, the everyday person who isnt familiar about the scene doesnt have a clue the events even exist and wont unless they hear about it in their everday travels
im bringing a couple friends w/ me who love watching drag racing and they had no idea about the event until i mentioned it to them. i think its people like this who could potentially pack the stands in the future if advertising ever reaches them on the regular.
perfect example: im going to monster jam tonight @ M&T stadium in baltimore. im not a huge monster truck fan but love to watch them when they come around locally. i never would have known about them coming to M&T if i hadnt heard it on the radio a week or so ago.
i always hear nhra advertising broadcast when they come to etown i even heard the motocross broadcast for down there @ budds creek several weeks ago. i couldnt make it due to other plans but would love to have gone and watched. again its locall people who love to go watch stuff like this that could eventually pack the stands, but they dont come across visual advertising in their everyday travels. imo radio is probably the most important advertising tool you could possibly use to attract spectators.
if nscra had used it for this area they would have had a much better turnout no doubt.
goodluck w/ the event Jason. i will be there spectating w/ friends, it should be a great show for sure
